Some call themselves “a strong squad”, the others are the Allershausen boys’ club.

Both are currently arguing about a Maibaum Klaus and its consequences.

Allershausen

– They come from Günzenhausen, Fürholzen, Massenhausen, Fahrenzhausen, Neufahrn and Haimhausen, are “a motley bunch” and two weeks ago stole the maypole from the Allershausen boys.

As one of them, Markus Wallner, describes, on the agricultural property in Allershausen where the tree was stored, "a heavy wheel loader and a barricade weighing tons" were cleared out of the way, the maypole stolen from the hall and "stored" themselves. .

At the same time – and this is where the maypole dispute begins – Wallner & Co. explain that two concrete blocks were “slightly damaged” when the wheel loader was removed “in the heat of the moment”.

Anger

The man who owns the concrete blocks and in whose hall the maypole was stored sees it differently: Markus Schuhbauer is pissed off and reports that it wasn't just the concrete blocks that were damaged.

It was also cheeky to take the wheel loader's spare key to move it, the paving of his yard had been damaged by the concrete blocks that had been moved around, as had the hall itself and the concrete blocks anyway.

For Wallner, however, one thing is certain: "This incident was exaggerated by the frustration of those who were robbed."

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

But that's not all of the anger: As Wallner reports, the Allershausen residents "arrived in large numbers" last week to get their maypole back.

With a sledgehammer, they "willfully smashed" a concrete manhole ring into which the tree was threaded, and also plowed up a neighboring field with their wheel loader, so to speak.

However, they were caught by the farmer's wife and then fled.

Wallner speaks of a "blundering" approach.

The negotiations

And the maypole dispute continued - during the negotiations: As far as the damaged or destroyed concrete parts were concerned, it was agreed that the damage would be compensated for each other.

The next negotiation point that caused trouble: the maypole release.

"Cheeky" 300 liters of beer were demanded, reports Wallner, and the Allershausen counter-offer of five crates of beer was rejected with great laughter.

Schuhbauer is annoyed by this: the maypole thieves claimed they came with 30 people, but there were only eleven.

After negotiations and debriefings, it was agreed on an invitation to Allershausen for beer and suckling pig, Wallner said.

The maypole is back in Allershausen.

For Schuhbauer, who sees the behavior and the claims of the other side as "cheeky", one thing is clear: "The festival will definitely not take place on my farm."

But the "Dance into May" of the Allershausen boys will take place.

It will take place this Sunday at the Volksfestplatz.

It starts at 6 p.m.
