(ANSA) - PALERMO, APRIL 30 - "It is not enough to carry out brilliant operations and deliver bloodthirsty criminals to prisons.
The system of power that lurks in the institutions needs a burst of pride from those responsible for leading this country".
Speaking is Franco La Torre, son of the exponent of the Communist Party Pio La Torre, assassinated by the mafia 41 years ago in via Li Muli in Palermo, together with his driver Rosario Di Salvo.
Franco La Torre took part in the ceremony which took place this morning on the site of the massacre.
"We expect the State to renew its commitment effectively - adds La Torre - not only on a day like this in which we remember the victims of Cosa Nostra. It is a commitment that must be renewed daily with the necessary consistency".
