The police said that the three were caught during the Friday night shift, while digging the tunnel inside the cell they were in, in a facility located at Ben Gurion Airport.
One of the suspects told in his investigation that he moved his bed, noticed a hole in the wall and started trying to widen it.
According to the suspicion, one of the suspects carved the tunnel, using parts of a chair and table that he tore, while the others watched.
The detention of the three was extended a short time ago at the Rishon LeZion Magistrate's Court by a day.
