A mother was stung by bees more than 75 times while trying to protect her two children after a swarm interrupted her family photo shoot in the Buckeye Valley, Arizona area.

The mother, who was not identified, was taking photos outdoors with her children when they were attacked, the Arizona Fire and Medical Authority said in a Facebook post Sunday.

The mother immediately put her two children in her truck, causing her to bear the brunt of the attack.

"The mother's quick thinking saved the children from being stung," the agency said.

In a 911 emergency phone call made public by firefighters, the woman's mother pleaded for help: “Please hurry.

Please hurry up.

My daughter can't get in the car;

she is being attacked by bees.

My granddaughters are with her.

Please send help,” the person she calls says.

Buckeye firefighters responded to the scene and removed the children from the car by spraying it with foam, as shown in a video of their intervention.

The children were rescued without injuries.

The mother was hospitalized, but she has since recovered, according to the agency.

The firefighters took advantage of the incident to remind citizens what they should do if they are attacked by a swarm of bees: it is best to

take refuge in a safe place

.

If this is not possible, you should

run in a straight line, cover your face, and seek shelter.

Never go into the water or try to fight the bees.
