The prosecutor's office has not yet decided whether an indictment will be filed against the 84-year-old Ekrama Saberi, one of the most prominent preachers in the Middle East, and this, contrary to the words of the Minister of Justice, who pledged to act in order to bring about a decision in the case against Saberi by the end of April. Meanwhile, the sheikh from Jerusalem met with Iran without interruption

April 25 (Walla system!)

The prosecutor's office has not yet decided whether an indictment will be filed against Ekrama Saberi, the "inciting sheikh", and this, contrary to what Justice Minister Yariv Levin said on the stage of the Knesset, who pledged to act in order to bring about a decision in the case against Saberi by the end of April.

This is how Wala learned today (Monday)!

The 84-year-old Sheikh Akrama Sabri, former Mufti of Jerusalem, is considered one of the most prominent preachers in the Middle East, and more specifically on the Temple Mount, where he is one of the hottest names - mainly because of his inflammatory messages against Israel.

Although he himself lives in East Jerusalem and is subject to Israeli law, he works without hindrance and is present at various events.

For example, at the end of last year, Sabri visited the home of the terrorist who carried out the attack in Dizengoff in March of last year, and on another occasion he visited the mourning pavilion that was erected in memory of the terrorist who murdered the MGB fighter Sergeant Noa Lazar last September. Not only that, in the past Sabri has He called on the young people to join "the family of the martyrs", since according to him it is a "sublime and divine status, which must be aspired to".

Sabri came to attention after he participated in a rally on the occasion of the Iranian "Quds Day" held last year, where he stood out among the speakers at the conference.

Other speakers at the event were senior officials of Hamas, Hezbollah and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Also this year Saberi spoke on "Yum Quds", although they are considering whether to file an indictment against him.

At the beginning of the year we published in Vala!

Because while the law authorities are still examining the findings and suspicions against him, Sabri flew to participate in a conference to mark the 25th anniversary of the "Al Quds" foundation, which works to promote the purchase of land in East Jerusalem.

Despite the serious suspicions against him, the law enforcement authorities did not issue an order prohibiting him from leaving the country, and for the time being - it is not clear if an indictment will be filed against him or if the case against him will be closed.

In the past, he had already been issued several orders banning him from leaving the country - but the validity of the last one expired at the end of last July, and no one bothered to renew it.

It should be noted that last year several requests were submitted to investigate him, and only in the last month of November, after many months of efforts, was approval received from the prosecutor's office (as required in incitement cases) to open an investigation against him.

He was interrogated by the police and in December, his case was transferred to the prosecutor's office for prosecution.

A few months have passed since then, and about two weeks ago the case returned to the completion of an investigation being carried out by the police these days.

At the end of the completions, the case will be transferred to the prosecutor's office for the purpose of examining the possibility of prosecution.

It should be noted that last February, an urgent query was submitted to Justice Minister Yariv Levin regarding the sheikh's case, and the minister responded: "By the end of April, the prosecutor's office will decide on his case," and added: "I hope that until after Passover we will not meet here with the question 'What happened?'

And why weren't things done."

During the examination period, the Sheikh continued his actions and was a central factor in the Palestinian incitement in the month of Ramadan, during which Sabri called for riots on the Temple Mount, while inflaming the young people by telling them: "The occupation started with the operation against the Al-Aqsa Mosque, fighting the freedom of prayer and removing the worshipers from it."

The prosecutor's office stated in response to the publication that the case was transferred to complete an investigation.
