The Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating the death of two men in a shooting on Wednesday night in Salou (Tarragona).
According to various witnesses, three people got out of a vehicle and shot the driver of another car, police sources explain.
The suspects have left the place in a car with a French license plate.
The Catalan police have arrested at least one person suspected of being involved in the crime, aged 24, and of French origin.
The first information confirmed by various police sources indicated that two people had died from the shots, but the Catalan police, through an official statement 10 hours after the incident, explained that one of the two men was still alive, hospitalized in very serious condition at the hospital.
Hours later, at 2:00 p.m. this Thursday, the Investigating Court 6 of Tarragona has confirmed the death of the second victim.
The Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) has explained this in a statement, in which it has reported that the case is open for two crimes of murder.
The shooting took place shortly before 11 pm in the Plaza de las Palmeras in Salou.
The suspects have fled the place and the Catalan police have carried out a closure of the area to prevent the escape of the alleged murderers.
At least one of them has been arrested in the Mèdol service area of the AP-7, according to police sources, where they have managed to stop the vehicle he was driving.
The first hypotheses point to a settling of scores for drug trafficking, according to police sources.
The shooting keeps the Catalan police mobilized, which continues to search for the rest of those involved in the shooting who have fled the scene on foot.
