On May 1, 2023, Jordan Neely, a well-known Michael Jackson impersonator in New York City, died when a former Marine strangled him on the subway.
The incident has sparked a wave of outrage highlighting the city's mental health policies and recent incidents of citizen 'vigilantes' taking the law into their own hands.
So far the witness accounts agree that Neely was yelling in the train car.
However, the aggression did not go beyond those limits.
After the video of Neely's death circulated on social networks, New York Mayor Eric Adams declared that they are investigating the death of the street artist.
The local Prosecutor's Office is still reviewing the evidence to determine if he will press charges.
