In the midst of the crisis in the Court, Ricardo Lorenzetti visited the Pope and sang with León Gieco

The fourth floor of the Palace of Courts burns.

The majority of the Supreme Court of Justice - made up of Horacio Rosatti, Carlos Rosenkrantz and Juan Carlos Maqueda - faces the consequences of having displaced the general administrator of the Judiciary, Marchi, who vented his frustration before the Political Trial Commission of Deputies, where the four ministers are put on trial.

But the other member of the highest court,

Ricardo Lorenzetti, made time to visit Rome

and be moved by the interpretation of I only ask God in the voice of León Gieco,

sitting next to Pope Francis.

Lorenzetti is in the Vatican as part of the large Argentine delegation at the meeting of the Interreligious Dialogue Institute (IDI), an organization promoted in Buenos Aires more than two decades ago by the then Buenos Aires archbishop Jorge Bergoglio, along with Rabbi Daniel Goldman

and

the Muslim leader

Omar Abboud

, who were also in Rome this Friday.

It is not the first time that the Minister of the Court has participated in the activities organized by the Vatican.

Lorenzetti has already attended several international meetings of judges,

which were also attended by dozens of Argentine magistrates and jurists.

The Congress "From Jorge to Francisco, from Argentina to the World" organized by the IDI, held its main event in the hall of the Apostolic Palace of the Vatican, where the Spanish Cardinal Miguel Ayuso, president of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, and more than a hundred Argentines.

Among them, in addition to Lorenzetti and León Gieco, the director of institutional affairs of IDI, Andrés Prieto Fassano;

the judges of the Buenos Aires Supreme Court

Hilda Kogan and Sergio Torres

;

the judges of the Superior Court of Justice of the City

Santiago Otamendi and Marcela De langhe

;

the former foreign minister and current president of CARI,

Adalberto Rodríguez Giavarini

;

the former Minister of Social Development

Carolina Stanley

;

union leaders

Oscar Silva and Gabriel Trovat

o;

businessmen

Eduardo Eurnekian, Tomás Karagozian and Ricardo Fernández Nuñez,

and the Argentine ambassador to the Holy See, María Fernanda Silva.

"I thank you for your efforts and I ask you to pray for me, each one in his language and in his gestures, I need it," the Pope said before a packed audience.

"If we Argentines don't pray for each other, we're fried,"

he insisted, then later asking each one to pray for a minute "for their brothers and sisters" in silence.

The Institute for Interreligious Dialogue valued today "the task" of Jorge Bergoglio, and stressed that "it could be translated into projects that reach the universal dimension" in various themes, among which he mentioned the environment, poverty and work, migrants, education and conversation among various faiths.

The "conclusions and challenges" of the IDI were released on the second day of the congress, whose most emotional moment was the intonation before the Pope "I only ask God."

"Through presentations and testimonies, we have received important insights into the essence that should animate our practices in favor of dialogue and encounter among men, and also about the methods that lead to developing in this spirit in our common home," said a IDI statement, which invited the leadership and citizens to appeal to "an awareness based on coherence and the link between theory and praxis".

And he pointed out that, "as Argentines,

we verify that what we have done is not enough.

That there are enormous challenges and questions in the spaces in which each of the participants develops their role in society. In this sense,

the exercise of dialogue, far from being a sign of weakness, it identifies our points in common

and sets aside the nuances that differentiate us, seeking concrete solutions to people's problems".

In addition to the Pope's speech, the activities of the event included the planting of an olive tree in the Vatican Gardens together with the president of the Governatorato, Cardinal Vergáz Alzaga, in commemoration of the one planted by the then Buenos Aires archbishop Bergoglio on March 29, 2000 in Plaza de May.

"Inspired by your message, the participants of this congress, bringing a voice that unites us in diversity, we celebrate these 10 years of your pontificate

with the desire to welcome you soon to your land

," concluded the IDI statement, in an appeal to Francisco.
