Schönbrunn – Four people were injured in a serious traffic accident on the district road Dah 3 between Schönbrunn and Röhrmoos on Friday afternoon.

According to the Dachau Police Inspectorate and the District Fire Inspectorate, a 65-year-old man from the United States of America drove his Volvo at around 12:45 p.m. on the road from Vierkirchen in the direction of Röhrmoos.

At an intersection he wanted to turn left in the direction of Schönbrunn.

During this turning maneuver, presumably out of inattention, he overlooked a 63-year-old Röhrmooser with her Toyota coming from the left, who was coming from Schönbrunn and was heading in the direction of Röhrmoos.

According to the police, the American should have given way at the intersection.

When the two cars collided, the Toyota was thrown to one side and landed on the passenger side.

First responders were able to free the Röhrmooser from her vehicle.

She was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

The American was slightly injured.

Both vehicles were no longer drivable and had to be towed away.

According to initial estimates, the total damage is around 35,000 euros.

The county road was closed for about five hours.

In addition to the police, the fire brigades from Röhrmoos, Vierkirchen, Schönbrunn, Ampermoching as well as several ambulances and an emergency doctor were on duty in the accident.

A rescue helicopter that had been alerted could be canceled again during the approach.
