After the discovery of a dead truck driver on a motorway parking lot in Tyrol, the police assume a homicide. There is already a first trace to the perpetrator.
Inzing – In the early hours of the morning, around 6.30 a.m., the emergency call is received by the Austrian police: A dead man was found in a truck on the Zirl-Inzing motorway parking lot in the province of Tyrol. The vehicle doors were open and there was blood on them.
When the police arrive at the scene, the descriptions are confirmed: In fact, the emergency services find a dead man in a vehicle. A pool of blood had also formed on the ground, according to a press release from the Tyrolean State Police Directorate.
Body found on the highway: Dead driver is found with stab wounds in truck
Apparently, the man was killed by several stab wounds to the upper body, as the officials note. The dead man is therefore a 35-year-old Polish citizen, probably the driver of the truck. The fact that this is very likely to be a homicide is quickly clear to the police. There is also already a first track.
Right next to it, in another parked truck, another man was discovered – whose clothes were smeared with blood, as the Tyrolean daily writes. The 36-year-old, also a Pole, was provisionally arrested by the police due to the evidence, the police said in the press release. Accordingly, the man is considered an urgent suspect. He himself was not injured, the newspaper continues.
Police assume homicide – A man in the truck next to it was arrested
Police believe that the two men met in the "parking lot and consumed alcohol in the evening and night hours." The police must now reconstruct the details of the bloody act. "The further course of the evening – in particular the course of events – is currently still unclear and the subject of the investigation," the message reads.
Nothing is currently known about the murder weapon, reports the Austria Press Agency (APA). Due to the injury picture, the LKA assumes a "sharp, pointed object". A seriously injured man with stab wounds was also recently found in Ruhpolding.

For the dead man in Austria, an autopsy on behalf of the public prosecutor's office is planned for May 8, according to the press release of the state police directorate. The forensic investigation was completed on Sunday afternoon. The motorway parking lot was closed for several hours.
