A 33-year-old resident of Jaffa was arrested on suspicion of breaking into two restaurants in a flea market and stealing tens of thousands of shekels from cash registers, violating the terms of the unfortunate alternative on previous charges. Israeli police are now releasing footage showing him stealing from one of the stores.
According to the indictment, Jaffa police officers arrested a suspect who broke into two restaurants in the flea market, violating the terms of the alternative to arrest on previous charges. The defendant is suspected of stealing a cash register, a laptop and two safes with cash totaling NIS 70,000 from one of the businesses. In another case, the defendant broke into a restaurant on Hebrew Gymnasium Street. As a result of his actions, the business sustained damage worth about NIS 3,000.

The police reported that following the two outbreaks, investigations were opened during which Jaffa Station investigators were able to locate forensic findings of fingerprints and DNA that linked the suspect to the burglaries. During interrogation, the suspect admitted to breaking into one of the restaurants, but denied the second alleged break-in, claiming that he was in custody at the time.
His detention was extended and yesterday an indictment was filed against him and a request for remand until the end of the proceedings, stating, among other things: "This is a person who committed what is attributed to him when he was indicted for identical offenses and the court trusted him and released him to house arrest in a therapeutic community. The defendant can no longer return to the community at the house arrest address because the community's counselors can no longer supervise him."
