An IDF soldier was seriously wounded Tuesday night (between Tuesday and Wednesday) by shrapnel during an exchange of fire that took place as part of an arrest operation by a force from the Jordan Valley Brigade in the village of Tubas in Samaria.
The soldier was evacuated to the hospital for medical treatment, and her family was updated
Dr. Avital Perry, a senior neurosurgeon at Sheba Medical Center: "In the early morning hours at Sheba, a young woman with severe head injuries was admitted to Sheba, she was treated in a shock room and brought to the neurosurgical intensive intensive care unit."

Dr Perry continued: "The next few days will be critical for her and she may need life-saving surgery. Her condition is currently stable and she is under close observation. She is vaguely conscious and cannot explain what happened. This is a typical phenomenon in severe head injuries. Her condition is defined as life-threatening in serious and stable condition. She is in intensive care for fear that her condition will deteriorate." She also reported that the soldier "was hit by shrapnel that hit several areas of her brain."
