Britain announces that it will supply missiles to Ukraine. A Russian propagandist calls on London to stop the supply – and threatens a nuclear strike.

Frankfurt – London's decision to supply modern cruise missiles to Ukraine is heating up tempers in Russia. Great Britain is thus the first country ever to equip Ukraine with such missiles.

"We will destroy you": this is what Russian TV presenter and propagandist Vladimir Solovyov says during an appearance on Russian state television. His words are addressed to Britain in particular – and to the whole of the West in general.

Ukraine warns against Russian propagandist: "Watch out, Britain!"

The missiles that Ukraine is to receive from Great Britain are "Storm Shadow" devices, the Tagesschau reports. For Russia, the delivery means that Britain is part of the war, Solovyov says during the television appearance.

Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, published a video clip of the television appearance on his Twitter account. Gerashchenko captioned his tweet with the words "Attention, Great Britain!" – a warning to London.

Russian propagandist demands: "We should burn something down"

Solovyov calls on Russia to respond to the delivery of missiles from Great Britain to Ukraine. "I think we are extremely passive," the Russian propagandist laments.

And what does Solovyov consider an appropriate response to the delivery of missiles? He demands that Russia respond in the most brutal way. "Why do the submarine cables still go to Britain?" asks Solovyov in his speech.

For him, it is clear that Russia should now no longer adhere to the ban on nuclear weapons tests: "We should conduct tests, show our nuclear weapons and burn something somewhere," Solovyov demands. The target is first and foremost Great Britain, but also "all the countries that offer support".

Missile delivery to Ukraine: Putin propagandist issues an ultimatum to the West

Solovyov calls for an ultimatum for the countries offering assistance to Ukraine: "If you supply the missiles, we will detonate."

The reactions on Twitter show that the nuclear threats from the Russian side are not taken very seriously. "Don't you understand the inflationary effect of repeating the same threat over and over again until it just causes a shrug of the shoulders?" asks one Twitter user. Another writes: "If I had a nickel for every nuclear threat...".

This is how Putin is now reacting to heavy losses in the Ukraine war.
