Elliot Page may try to make a serious gesture in front of the cameras, but nothing can hide his happiness. It took a little longer than he would like, but the actor can, at last, feel at ease and happy in his own body.

That's why he celebrated the arrival of summer in Canada with a photo on Instagram. A snapshot in which you can see him without a shirt and that, in addition to welcoming the good weather, serves to celebrate having overcome his insecurities once and for all.

Accompanying the image, where you can see some of the obvious changes in the actor's body due to his transition, he writes a revealing message in which he also "undresses" before his followers.

The actor's heartfelt post generated empathy and more than a million likes from his followers.

"Dysphoria – gender, that feeling of discomfort or distress that can be felt by people whose gender identity differs from biological sex – used to be especially common in the summer," confesses the interpreter of The Umbrella Academy, "No layers, just a shirt – or layers and so sweaty – constantly looking down, readjusting my oversize shirt."

For the actor, that is in the past. Now he is a complete man, and it shows in the way he looks and feels. Not only your body, but also how you see life. "It feels so j*didly to be in the sun now; I never thought I could experience this, the joy I feel in my body. I am so grateful for what gender affirming care has allowed me and look forward to sharing more of my journey soon."

The actor, formerly known as Ellen Page, became one of the most famous trans men on the planet after confessing what he was going through in an essay published in Esquire magazine where he revealed what it was like to grow up in a body in which he did not recognize himself and the "great joy" that brought him to make the transition and be able to see himself "really". He also recalled some of the most painful moments of his life such as problems with food, as well as the anxiety and panic attacks he had to deal with.

The actor is happier than ever and declares that it seemed impossible to feel as euphoric as now, that he can walk around "with a shirt" that "fits him", without having "constant feelings of shame and self-hatred".

"I can't overstate the greatest joy, which is to really see yourself. I know others see me differently, but I'm starting to look like myself. It is indescribable," wrote the Canadian, who insisted that "when I say that I could never have imagined feeling this way, I mean it with each of my senses. The greatest joy is being able to feel present, literally, just being present."

The Umbrella Academy star announced that on June 6 the book will be published that promises to reveal the story of her life and her experiences, joyful and painful, being one of the most famous trans people in Hollywood and the world.
