Two teenagers filmed themselves torturing kittens in a forest on Thursday. The video of the abuse inflicted on the two little cats was posted on one of their Snapchat accounts. An investigation has been opened for acts of cruelty to animals resulting in death by the prosecutor's office of Evreux, learned the Figaro from the prosecutor, confirming information from franceinfo.
The gendarmerie is in charge of the investigations. The video was reported to the prosecutor's office by the animal protection association Stéphane Lamart who also filed a complaint against the two individuals for serious abuse and acts of cruelty resulting in death.
The association designates teenagers as fourth-grade students in an establishment in the Eure. "Investigations are underway to identify the perpetrator or perpetrators," says the prosecutor of the Republic of Evreux. In this video, one of the individuals takes a kitten in his hands before throwing it violently against a tree. Once the first feline died, the same schoolboy grabbed a second cat before throwing it high in the air and letting it crash to the ground "under the encouragement of his comrade," according to the organization. On Twitter the association denounces "irresponsible, intolerable and cruel" behavior.
