Macron-Wauquiez, same fight? The rapprochement may seem bold. There is, however, something in common between the exit of the head of state against the "European rules" on the environment and the charge of the boss of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region against the administrative authorities and against what he calls the "supreme courts". What we have in common is the desire to reaffirm the authority and primary legitimacy of political power. And it is, for public opinion, the declination of Georges Pompidou's famous adage: "Let's stop annoying the French."
What does Wauquiez say? In his interview with Le Point, he proposes to abolish "almost all" independent administrative authorities - the Health Security Agency, the CNIL, Arcom... - which impose their decisions or their vision without benefiting from democratic legitimacy.
