Freising – It lasted exactly 1440 days, the long dry spell. On Friday at 16:04 p.m. sharp, it was over. That's when the security troupe opened the entrances to Freising's Luitpoldanlage and let in the first festival guests who had already been impatiently waiting for the starting signal for the Uferlos.

The temperatures were slightly frosty, but the reception of the guests was warm at the post-Corona comeback of the Freising tent city. Around 100 bands and artists are looking forward to crowds of visitors over the next ten days. The same applies to the approximately 70 stand operators, who already lured visitors to the Market of Possibilities on Friday afternoon with a wide variety of smells – all with free admission.

There are still remaining tickets for Bob Geldof

Tickets only have to be purchased for one premiere: For the first time, a knight defeated by the Queen will perform in Freising. Sir Bob Geldof, creator of the charity concert "Live Aid", will be performing this Saturday evening at 20 p.m. in the Luitpoldhalle. There are still enough tickets available at the Freising Tourist Information Office or at the box office.

Many warm places await visitors at the Uferlos Festival. And if you unfortunately couldn't get a place in the stroller, you can look forward to heaters in the tents - and bands that also heat up.

"Never say never" is the motto for Kai and Funky, who will perform on Sunday at 21.30 pm in the Vimpay tent. Both were part of the legendary German rock formation Ton Steine Scherben. "The band has always said that they will never perform in Bavaria because it is too conservative for them here. Now they're doing it," says Susanne Günther, head of cultural affairs. "A bit of revolutionary sound is also good for Freising."

For the first time, a sheep's head tournament will also take place

A premiere of a different kind will take place on Saturday in the Tutuguri tent: For the first time, a sheep's head tournament will take place as part of the festival. Here, too, spontaneous carters can still make their way. From 14 p.m., thanks to SpVgg Attenkirchen, Geier and Wenz will be circling in the Tutuguri tent. Registration is required by e-mail to vorstand-spvggattenkirchen@web.de.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

There is also a lot on offer for children at the weekend. For example, as part of the Travel Market Kids Club, the fun baggage will perform on Saturday at 16 p.m. On Sunday at 14 p.m., the Freising Clown School will be a guest.

You can find even more up-to-date news from the district of Freising on Merkur.de/Freising.

By the way, the Uferlos makers are well prepared for the cooler temperatures: The tents have heaters, there are a total of around 2000 indoor seats, mulled wine, and food from the individual stands can also be taken into the tents.
