Bercy may tighten the budgetary screw and hammer the "end of whatever it costs", Emmanuel Macron does not waver: the tax burden on the middle classes is too high. During his televised address on Monday, the head of state announced "2 billion in tax cuts for households" by 2027. The measure must focus on the "middle classes", "i.e. the hard-working French men and women, [...] and who today, because the cost of living has risen, [...] are struggling to complete the end of the month.
