DECRYPTION - The use of Article 40, allowing to declare the bill of the Liot group inadmissible, is envisaged by the government.

The presidential majority is struggling to close the sequence of retreats. Prevented by the use of article 49.3 on 16th March last, the vote on the text should be held on 8th June next in the Hemicycle during the "reserved day" of the Liot group, at the origin of a bill to repeal the reform of the government.

The approach worries the executives of the majority, who are trying to turn the page of this painful episode. Aware that a vote in the National Assembly is likely to be unfavourable to them, they are also working to find a way out of what could become a heavy political symbol to bear.

How can this be done, when the text is due to be examined by the Finance Committee on 31 May? The issue is to be debated on Tuesday morning at a joint meeting of the three majority groups (Renaissance, MoDem, Horizons).
