Highlights: Django the cat is the star in the Hagebaumarkt Starnberg. He has been going in and out of it every day since 2017. The staff lovingly take care of the little man, providing him with sleeping facilities and giving him something to eat twice a day. During the Corona pandemic, when all shops had to be closed, an employee came and fed him every day. Some people even come from further away, just to be able to see the cat with their own eyes.

In 2017, Django the cat went to a Starnberg hardware store for the first time and has lived there ever since. Employees and visitors love the ball of fur.

Starnberg - Red-and-white tabby, friendly face and particularly hairy: This is what the boss of the Starnberg Hagebaumarkt looks like. If you're wondering how this can be - the boss's name is Django and he's a cat. He sees himself as a star and feels validated by the customers. "In 2019, a lot of people were there because of the hangover," says deputy store manager Sylvi Biller. "He knew he was the star and posted especially for the customers."

But it is not only since 2019 that the pretty cat has found a home in the Starnberg DIY store. He has been going in and out of it every day since 2017. Django does have an owner, but when she got another pet, he decided to make the hardware store his new residence, according to Biller.

The staff lovingly take care of the little man, provide him with sleeping facilities and give him something to eat twice a day. Also on Sundays and public holidays. During the Corona pandemic, when all shops had to be closed, "an employee came and fed him every day". "So it's completely taken care of 24/7," explains Biller.

"Django has a cuddly blanket, a house that is even covered with polystyrene sheets in winter and is regularly taken to the vet. He's probably the healthiest animal walking around here."

Kater is popular in Starnberg's DIY store: "Django is a magnet for visitors"

Both the staff and customers love Django. Some people even come from further away, just to be able to see the cat with their own eyes. "Django is a magnet for visitors," says Sylvi Biller. However, he doesn't like it so much when he sleeps and is then petted: "But most customers maintain his privacy."

So if you want to see it live and in color yourself, you can stop by the hardware store. According to the deputy store manager, "he spends most of his time in the garden." There he has a bed at the garden info. (ly)
