In the presence of Foreign Minister Eli Cohen and Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon, the flags of the four countries that determined the location of their embassies in Israel's capital were waved at the entrance to the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday. The event, held ahead of Jerusalem Day and as part of the events celebrating Israel's 75th anniversary, was attended by representatives from the four countries.
The countries whose flags were flown and which moved their representation in the country to Jerusalem are the United States, which first opened its embassy in the city on May 14, 2018, Gutamla, which did so two days later, Kosovo (March 2021), and Honduras (June 2021).

At the festive ceremony, the Foreign Minister, whose initiative was flying the flags, promised that during the coming year additional embassies would be inaugurated in the city: "Jerusalem is the eternal capital of the State of Israel, and the beating heart of the Jewish people for more than 3,000 years. Ahead of the Jerusalem Day events, we celebrated, together with the United States, Guatemala, Kosovo and Honduras, their decision to establish an embassy in the capital of Israel, and waved the flags of the countries at the entrance to the Foreign Ministry. I took upon myself a mission: to bring three more embassies to Jerusalem by the end of 3, and I call on the rest of the world to open their embassies in Jerusalem."
