Passover is behind us and summer is already showing its marks, but that doesn't stop many from choosing to fly at this time of year, which is considered more pleasant in terms of weather and less crowded for tourists in many destinations around the world.
If you're due to fly on Shavuot, be aware that you may encounter congestion at certain times, although the numbers are still not as high as they should be on requested summer days. On Wednesday and Thursday next week (May 25-24), about 82,<> passengers are expected to pass through Ben Gurion Airport every day. These numbers are higher than usual, but relatively low compared to what was expected in the tourism industry and what people are used to seeing at Ben Gurion Airport during the holidays and summer.

For the sake of comparison, Passover had days when 100,<> passengers passed through Ben Gurion Airport, and the numbers may be even higher during the summer. Due to the large number of passengers, it is recommended to arrive at Ben Gurion Airport about three hours before departure, and of course to be patient if there are queues that may occur during some hours of the day.
The most popular destinations to which Israelis will fly during the holiday are Istanbul and Antalya in Turkey, the various Greek islands, Paphos and Larnaca in Cyprus and destinations in the United States, led by New York.
