Have you traveled the world, your stomach has caught you hungry and you want to eat something delicious? Well, sandwiches are a dish you'll find in every country – in different versions. So that on the next trip you can find a good sandwich, read this article – and try to cut and save. You'll still need it to have a good time.

Choripan (Argentina)

A combination of sausages with mustard and chimichurri sauce form the essence of this classic Argentine sandwich, whose name is a combination of chorizo (the sausage) and bread (pan).

The origins of the Choripan come straight from the gauchos, cowboys who lived in the area for centuries and were known for their asado. Today, you can find this greasy sandwich in many restaurants in Buenos Aires and far beyond, in road restaurants throughout South America and at sporting events.

Pan Banya (France)

Love Niçoise salad? Well, there's a good chance you'll also like its sandwich version, which is very reminiscent of the sandwich that comes from the Nice region in the south of France. The sandwich is cut in half almost to the end, so that the bread will be "bare" and display its contents, filled with fresh vegetables, anchovies, olives, sliced hard-boiled eggs, pieces of tuna, olive oil, salt and pepper. How do you say? Bon Appétit.

Smerbard (Denmark)

Although this sandwich is considered one of Denmark's national dishes, it is one that has managed to reach its Scandinavian neighbors as well. Although its name means "butterbread," there's so much more to this sandwich than meets the eye.

The base of the sandwich is rye bread, which is topped with various combinations - from fish with curry and salted fish through slices of hard-boiled eggs to raw meat. This is a very impressive sandwich, and even tastier than it looks.

Chips sandwich (UK)

It's the exact opposite of an aesthetically pleasing sandwich, after all – it's a white bread sandwich with butter topped with chip bars. That's it, as simple as possible. Although it sounds like something that must have been invented in recent years, the origins of the sandwich go back to the 60s, when it was served alongside a fish dish in Lancashire. If you want to go wild, you can always add a sauce that wasn't very common back then – ketchup.

Montreal (Canada) smoked beef sandwich

Carnivores among you are sure to love this smoked meat-laden sandwich, which comes straight from Quebec. The sandwich contains lots and lots of meat in a light rye bun with drizzles of mustard. This sandwich tastes best when the meat in it has aged for about two weeks in salt water and when it is seasoned with peppercorns and garlic. Yummy!

Cucumber sandwich (UK)

The most notable sandwiches are those loaded with goodies, but even a minimalist sandwich can do the trick. It's a classic English dish, usually served on platters alongside scones and mini-pastries.

And what awaits you in it? Next to sliced English cucumbers, put in a bun made of white wheat flour without the hard part: butter, a little pepper and even a few herbs like dill. Cut the bun into triangles, add a cup of tea to them – and enjoy.

Tremezzino (Italy)

Although this sandwich originated from Turin, it was Venice that made it its signature dish in pubs. It is white bread with different fillings - from olives and tuna, soft boiled eggs and vegetables, up to pieces of prosciutto and truffles. Sounds like a delicious dish while watching gondolas, doesn't it?
