At a joint board meeting of the Local Government Center and the Regional Government Center held on Thursday, it was decided to continue the fight against the "Arnona Fund Law" "designed to steal residents' money."
The local and regional governments have decided to transfer the steps of the struggle to the legal arena and are preparing to appeal to the courts, which will be submitted at the end of the legislative process of the Arrangements Law.
In addition, the local government has established an action team that will coordinate the actions to be taken in the struggle against the government, without harming the residents of the local authorities. The team will lead the legal, bureaucratic and practical steps.
The Local Government Center says that "the Arnona Fund Law is a distorted law that changes the genesis order in the relations between central government and local government, it is an unequal law, based on false data presented by the Ministry of Finance, and promoted in a predatory and illegal manner. The fund does not achieve the goals for which it is claimed to have been established (dealing with the housing crisis), and it is clear that it was promoted for other extraneous considerations."
The local government is completely opposed to the Arnona Fund Law, which harms the autonomy, powers and budgets of local authorities, and demands that the state present a real plan to solve the housing crisis, which will bring down housing prices, a realistic incentive to expand the construction of housing units, and a real strengthening of the authorities in the periphery and in the sector.
