The German Weather Service predicts violent thunderstorms in Bavaria for the start of next week. After all, it will still be really warm on Sunday.
Munich – The weather schedule for the next few days in Bavaria seems clear: The upcoming weekend should be comparatively quiet, the sun comes out from time to time, but isolated showers are possible. At the start of next week, however, the big weather bang with violent thunderstorms, heavy rain, hail – according to meteorologist Dominik Jung, the "whole program" is imminent.
First the warmest day of the year – then the uncomfortable start to the week: weather outlook for Bavaria
For Friday, May 19, there are no significant weather phenomena throughout Bavaria. And that's good news for a change after the last few weeks, when flood warnings were already making the rounds. In the current weather video from wetternet on YouTube, temperatures of around 17 degrees are predicted with cloudy skies with scattered sunshine.
On Saturday, May 20, and Sunday, May 21, it will be even better: "Hardly any precipitation to be expected", it will be around 22 degrees warm. On Sunday, people in Bavaria can look forward to the warmest day of the year so far: With a lot of sun and only a few clouds, temperatures climb to around 25 degrees in Munich and even 29 degrees in Nuremberg.

At the start of the upcoming week, however, things are going downhill again. According to expert Jung, the potential for severe weather is initially more likely to occur in the north and west of Germany, but temperatures will drop to just over 22 degrees on Monday, May 20, but also in Bavaria. On the night of Tuesday, May 23, the storms will spread to the south, according to the German Weather Service (DWD). During the day, according to the DWD, there are "partly strong thunderstorms with heavy rain and hail".

Bavaria facing a tough change in weather: What comes after the storms?
After all, according to the DWD, the weather situation calms down again after the uncomfortable Tuesday. "From Wednesday diminishing storm potential before thunderstorms and gradual calming of the weather," it says with regard to May 24. Looking ahead to the end of next week, wetternet's weather video shows that temperatures will remain at just under 20 degrees, with isolated rain possible. (FHZ)
