Buch am Buchrain – The former emergency vehicle of the Bucher fire brigade is more than 50 years old. The Mercedes with Bachert body was replaced seven years ago by a new multi-purpose vehicle. In the community, it was quickly agreed that the LF 8 should remain in Buch. At the end of 2016, the classic car was temporarily moved to the building yard because the Buachna Heimatverein was planning to take it over. However, the vehicle is still there today – in the open air. At the annual general meeting of the fire brigade, the topic was discussed again.
"What's the matter with that?" member Georg Krojer wanted to know and directly criticized the current circumstances: "Year after year, we have to watch how the car rumbles and rusts there. That's not a solution, that it's down there in the open." Other firefighters in Krojer's vicinity reacted surprised that the classic car does not have a covered location.
Chairman Martin Roth referred to the municipality, because the Mercedes was in their possession and they had to decide on the future of the LF 8. However, the fact that there is probably still nothing new on the part of the municipality was shown by the feedback from the mayor addressed. "The question has been asked, but after 22 p.m. I won't give any more answers," said Ferdinand Geisberger with a laugh.
