Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said this evening that in accordance with the coalition agreement and the repeal of the Disengagement Law in the Knesset, the OC signed an order to cancel the permit to stay in Homesh and to add the community to the Samaria Regional Council area, in order to replan the meeting. "We promised to arrange the continuation of Torah study in the Homesh yeshiva and we are fulfilling," said Smotrich, who is also a minister in the Defense Ministry. He thanked Defense Minister Yoav Galant for his cooperation in arranging the meeting

In January, the government asked the High Court of Justice for a three-month extension to regulate the status of the Homesh outpost, in response to a petition seeking its eviction. The government reported that it planned to amend the Disengagement Law, under which the settlement in northern Samaria was evacuated, and to regulate the legal status of the yeshiva established in the area even after the evacuation. Since then, the law has been repealed as part of the wave of legislation as part of the legal revolution.

MK Gilad Kariv (Labor) attacked the state's response in January, saying that "it is the first swallow of the annexation policy that the new government has pursued, a policy that will inevitably lead to a bloody and dangerous bi-national reality. The response proves to what extent Netanyahu, who voted in favor of the disengagement plan, is led by the extremist and nationalist forces in his government."

The Peace Now movement said at the time that "the state's response in the High Court of Justice of the criminal outpost of Homesh says it all - before our eyes a dangerous messianic coup is taking place. Instead of evacuating the outpost one hour earlier, the annexation government prefers to trample on the law, morality and Israeli interests for the whims of the delusions of the extreme right. If we don't wake up and stop the project of Jewish supremacy on the hills, the new government will make sure that the territories conquer Israel."
