Antisemitic statements from Moscow's official representatives again? The Egyptian embassy posted a tweet on Sunday lashing out at Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and linking him to Israel.
"The head of the Nazi regime in Kiev, who is linked by blood to Israel, arrived at the main political conference of the Arab world and dared to brazenly lie about the origins of the crisis between Russia and Ukraine," read the embassy's tweet, which was later deleted as users began commenting on the blatantly anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli language in the text.

The tweet was later reposted but without the link to Zelenskyy's Jewishness or Israel. On Friday, Zelensky attended a meeting of the Arab League in Saudi Arabia and was warmly received by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. In his speech, Zelensky attacked the turning a blind eye of many Arab countries to Russia's atrocities in Ukraine and called on Arab League members to support Ukraine.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, an ally of Russia Vladimir Putin, showed his loyalty to his patron when during Zelenskyy's speech he removed his translation headphones and looked hostile at the Ukrainian president.
