Dozens of dunams of date groves were burned Sunday night near Kibbutz Kalia. The Israel Fire and Rescue Service said that "all directions of investigation are being examined."

A preliminary investigation indicates that the suspected arson is being investigated, but the cause is not yet known. Senior officers on the ground are investigating the incident. Over twenty fire crews participated in extinguishing the fire, including planes from the "Elad" squadron.

As mentioned, the 102 hotline received a message about a fire spreading rapidly in a date grove in Kalia. Many teams from the Judea and Samaria district and aid from the Central, Jerusalem and Dan districts went to the scene. At first light, aerial firefighting aircraft began extinguishing operations.
