Presumed managers, versatile salesman, "nanny", lookout... Nine men have been on trial since Tuesday, May 30 in Bobigny, for drug trafficking in the city of Boute-en-Train in Saint-Ouen, the second trial resulting from the wave of arrests on this point of trafficking extinguished in 2021. The two towers, located in the heart of the famous Saint-Ouen flea market, ended up being emptied of their inhabitants in 2021 and condemned, putting an end to the Boute-en-Train deal that operated 24 hours a day.

My assigned job is to take care of the "nanny".

Billel C., one of the suspects

Aged between 22 and 47, the defendants are being prosecuted before the 13th Criminal Chamber for facts dating from March to November 2021 in Saint-Ouen, one of the main cities supplying cannabis and cocaine in Paris. The file is based on about forty surveillances: car soundproofing, wiretapping, observations of the round trips between tower 10, sometimes dedicated to storage and tower 12 where the sale took place...

On the first day of the trial, the court questioned at length Billel C., 32, suspected of having been in charge of the supervision and security of the drug outlet for a long time. He explains that he was only an "intermediary". "My assigned job is to take care of the "nanny" (the person who keeps the products, editor's note) and when the seller is caught, I find one," says Billel C. in the box, specifying that he carried out his missions on the phone.

Watchers, reloaders, "nannies", ...

Why are you almost every day on the Boute-en-Train if you are only on the phone?" asks President Jean-Baptiste Acchiardi. "In truth, I don't even need to be in the city, my work is only on the phone but I have friends in the city, I don't live far away," he justifies. "So it is mixing the useful with the pleasant?" asks the magistrate. "That's it," the defendant replies, stoic. Eight other men have been referred to the criminal court: four are appearing as detainees (including one for another case), two under judicial control, another free under electronic bracelet and the last is absent.

They are suspected of having had different roles: lookouts, reloaders (responsible for bringing drugs from the place of storage to the point of resale), "nannies"... While they all acknowledge partial involvement in cannabis trafficking, they deny any cocaine trafficking. This hearing is the second part of a series of trials on drug trafficking in Saint-Ouen and its surroundings. At the end of April, the court of Bobigny had sentenced to six to ten years in prison the executives of drug trafficking of the same city. The deliberations will be delivered on June 6.
