Preparing for a multi-front scenario: The political-security cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is convening this evening (Sunday) to assess the situation in the "pit" in the Kirya in Tel Aviv, as part of the "Crushing Fist" military exercise, in which the IDF is testing its ability to fight in several arenas simultaneously, in different scenarios, with an emphasis on the northern arena. The purpose of the exercise is to increase the IDF's competence and readiness for a prolonged campaign, dealing with challenges and erupting events.
"The reality in our region is changing rapidly. We are not stagnant," Prime Minister Netanyahu said at the start of the meeting, adding: "We are adjusting our doctrine of war and our options of action according to these changes, according to our goals, which are not changing."

He added: "We are committed to acting against the Iranian nuclear program, against the missile attacks against the State of Israel and against the possibility of joining the arenas, what we call a multi-front campaign. This requires us to consider, if possible in advance, several of the main decisions that the cabinet and the government of Israel will have to make together with the defense establishment, the IDF, and other security agencies.
This is the purpose of the exercise. We are confident and confident that we can handle any threat on our own, and by other means."
As part of the security cabinet, Prime Minister Netanyahu and cabinet ministers receive a comprehensive overview of the scenario, as they would in real-time combat, and together with the IDF prepare optimally for the threats practiced. Also, during the assessment of the situation in the drill, the importance of the exercise "punch punch" for future emergency preparedness is noted
