We may not admit it, but no matter how connoisseur we define ourselves, most of us wander around the vast and endless spaces of IKEA with a terrible crave and wishful thinking one capsule - to bite into the company's simple Hot Dog dish, which costs only five shekels after payment at the box office.
So here we go, vegans deserve it too. IKEA Israel announced today (Monday) that it is launching a vegan hot dog for five shekels. The new dish, which can also be enjoyed by the vegan audience, will be sold alongside the familiar and beloved hot dog at the same price.

By the way, in case you didn't know (or weren't interested until now), the long history of the hot dog at IKEA began in 1981. So, in accordance with the company's vision to offer the most affordable prices, it decided to sell the hot dog in its branches at half price compared to competitors.
Thus began the success story of the IKEA hot dog, which is now served in all IKEA stores around the world. "Adding the vegan hot dog for five shekels is the continuation of the realization of IKEA's vision to create a better life for as many people as possible," the company explains to us.
Expansive and never-ending spaces,
The vegan sausage is made based on pea protein. "This is another step in realizing IKEA's vision to offer healthier and environmentally friendly products that combine plant-based and natural ingredients and materials," the company claims.
It should be noted that other vegan alternatives sold in the Swedish store are American plant-based ice cream, vegan cheesecake, vegan vegetable patties and lentil chip snack.
The vegan hot dog is sold in all IKEA stores in Israel, at the customers' restaurant and before leaving the store.
