The military court on Monday sentenced Alaa Kabaha, the terrorist who ran over Capt. Ziv Daus and Sergeant Netanel Kahalani to death and seriously wounded two other soldiers five years ago. Kabaha was convicted after lengthy evidentiary proceedings of two counts of intentional manslaughter (equivalent to murder in Judea and Samaria) and two counts of attempted intentional manslaughter.
After hearing the arguments of the parties to the sentence, the military court sentenced the defendant to prison. In addition, the defendant will pay compensation to the victims of the crime in a total amount of three million shekels. Thus, the military court accepted the military prosecution's petition regarding the defendant's sentence.

As part of the verdict, it was determined, in accordance with the military prosecution's position, that the defendant deliberately ran over the soldiers with the intention of causing their death, and rejected the defendant's version that it was a car accident. The court ruled that the prosecution proved the facts of the indictment, according to which the defendant passed the soldiers and decided to run them over to death. The defendant turned back and drove at a speed of about 70 kilometers per hour towards them, until he hit them. As a result, Capt. Daus and Sergeant Netanel Kahalani were killed, and two other soldiers were seriously wounded.
