Watch: Police officer suspects man clinging to 12-year-old girl at Gordon Beach and grabs secret camera on him | Police Spokesperson's Office
Yesterday afternoon at Gordon Beach in Tel Aviv, a patrol officer from the Lev Tel Aviv station who stopped to buy coffee noticed a man standing close behind a girl standing in line at a café. The man holding a bag and pulling it close to the girl from behind aroused the suspicion of the policeman, who believed that the suspect was holding a camera in a bag aimed at the girl's intimate areas.
The policeman approached the man, grabbed his cell phone and arrested him, while attempting to escape. The policeman overpowered the suspect, a 40-year-old resident of Tel Aviv, and seized a camera with it on.
The suspect and the camera were handed over to Lev Tel Aviv investigators for further interrogation, where it was suspected that other young women were filmed without their knowledge in the same way. The suspect was brought before the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court for an extension of his detention for interrogation purposes, but was released under restrictive conditions of house arrest.
