A rescue effort against the clock went to the North Atlantic on Monday to locate and rescue the five crew members aboard the tiny submarine Titan, with which contact was lost yesterday near the sinking point of the Titanic.
The tiny vessel, which transported tourists to witness the wreckage of the historic luxury ship, has only 96 hours of oxygen, so rescuers believe people on board have less than two days of oxygen left.
The U.S. Coast Guard and the Canadian Navy sent a search expedition for the tiny vessel, and several submarine detection planes arrived at the area where the submarine disappeared in an attempt to locate it. In addition, the U.S. Coast Guard dispersed buoys with listening devices in hopes of receiving signals or sounds from the vessel.

U.S. Coast Guard Rear Admiral John Mauger said: "We have sent C-130 submarine search aircraft and are conducting aerial searches, both observation and sonar, at the scene. The Canadian Coast Guard has also sent similar planes, and we are coordinating search and rescue efforts with them.
During the night, the identities of the passengers on board the submarine were revealed. One of the missing is British billionaire Hamish Harding, a businessman, adventurer and aviation pilot who made his fortune in aviation. Another passenger is the French submarine operator and international expert on the Titanic, Paul Henri Narjolais. In addition to them is Stockton Head, researcher and founder of the company to which the submarine Titan belongs.
