An indictment was filed this week against a young man who rented an apartment in Beit Shemesh, on suspicion of assaulting his landlord and breaking one of his fingers after the latter complained of the smell of drugs coming from the apartment.
The incident began on Monday morning when the landlord complained to the defendant about the smell of drugs from his rented apartment. The complainant then came to the defendant's apartment to deal with the strong odor nuisance.
An argument ensued between the two during which the accused attacked the complainant and broke his fourth finger in his hand. The accused even slammed the complainant's head against the wall. In the afternoon, a report was received to the police hotline 100 and a patrol car arrived at the scene. The suspect was arrested a short time later at the scene. The indictment was filed yesterday after the investigation activities at the Beit Shemesh station of the Jerusalem district were completed. The Jerusalem District Police Prosecution Unit filed the indictment in the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court and the defendant is in custody pending another decision.

We will continue to act against violent incidents wherever and whenever necessary."
