Even if you don't see it in the school building on Freiherr-von-Hallberg-Platz at first, the 33-year-old building needs to be renovated and modernized.
Hallbergmoos - The biggest chunks in the 22 measures and 4.6 million euro renovation package are the replacement of the floors (a good 615,000 euros), the renewal of the ceilings (425,000 euros), the improvement of the acoustics in the classrooms (545,000 euros), various electrotechnical measures (550,000 euros) and the purchase of pavilions (390,000 euros). In addition, there are new wardrobe furniture, Wi-Fi connections, the conversion of ventilation, windows and doors as well as roof and façade renovation. The costs for measures for Wi-Fi and smart board boards, some of which are funded by the Digital Pact for Schools, are calculated at around 65,000 euros.

In order to disrupt school operations as little as possible, the planning team led by architect David Meuer has devised a system. In the meeting, he explained: "Right wing, ground floor, then right wing upper floor, then the same on the other side." This means that not all classes have to be moved out at the same time and taught in containers. Niedermair recommended the school car park as a suitable location. It has been agreed with Rector Rudolf Weichs that at least two classes can remain in the school building. The five construction phases are spread over four years.

"We do not recommend removing individual things for cost reasons and postponing them until later. That doesn't make it any cheaper. Then it's better to delete it altogether," Meuer emphasized. However, the planner warned against further waiting. Inflation alone is bringing increases of eight percent. He added: "I ask for some confidence that we are looking for the most economical solution." Currently, they are still in the area of cost estimation. Before the work is put out to tender, everything comes back to the council tables anyway.

Stefan Rentz (CSU) supported Meuer's assessment: "Painting would be a no-go. Everything on the list should be implemented." Above all, the acoustic ceilings, Rentz continues, are absolutely necessary for health and noise protection for teachers. Meanwhile, Thomas Henning (FW) warned of a "financial overload" with regard to other municipal buildings.
