A user of the social network TikTok showed in one of her videos an effective and cheap way to get clothes in the United States. It is a place called Goodwill Superstore, managed by the non-profit company Goodwill Industries.
According to Chofita, creator of the @chofitamanza account, it is a second-hand place where people can donate what they no longer use, so that the industry can then sell the garments at a cheaper price, mostly for people in vulnerable situations.
How the place that showed a tiktoker works and is viral
Chofita shows in his video the interior of the business, where you can see a wide variety of products, ranging from clothing, antiques, furniture, collectible jewelry, ornaments to decorate and mattresses, among others.
Tiktoker Chofita explained how the U.S. store works.
Goodwill developed a system to validate the condition of the product and thus establish the appropriate price. On its label, each garment has a color that refers to a range of value, starting from two dollars.
"Every day a color predominates, in which all garments that have that color are at 50% discount," says the influencer, who visited the headquarters located in Miami, Florida. In the video you can see that she shows some products that can be purchased, such as caps, jeans, shoes, and even wedding dresses for almost 20 dollars.
An important aspect of the operation of the store is that it employs people in vulnerable situations or with disabilities, so that they can access the labour market in a safe environment.
A wide variety of products can be found in this store.
The video had a great impact on the Chinese social network and went viral on different platforms. Another user reacted favorably to the content and listed the interesting aspects of the company: "I like it because it prevents objects that serve the garbage from going, it gives work to people and for us, the Argentines, Yankee clothes give us a little status."
