After announcing that he would not start the school year now, Ran Erez Yor The teachers' union is stepping up its measures and in a letter to the organization's teachers stated that no work should be done in the summer.
In a letter sent Thursday, the organization's chairman wrote that principals, teachers and counselors should not do any work during the summer recess. He said: "Working in recess is not mandatory. It is not compensated – and it conveys a lack of determination towards employers. In light of this, principals are asked not to prepare for the next school year, which will not begin on September 1."
These comments come a day after he announced that the 12-<> school year would not begin without a signed wage agreement. As is well known, Ran Erez is waging a battle with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education over the salaries of high school teachers, demanding NIS <>,<> for a beginning teacher and an increase in the salaries of veteran teachers at the same rate.
The Finance Ministry claims that "the teachers' union continues to entrench itself in its position, which is inconsistent with the magnitude of the recent agreements with other labor unions.
A series of steps
Ran Erez also set out a series of measures, among other things: Educational counselors will not work during the summer break in all the positions required by school administrations and supervision. Teachers will not deal with any issue related to reinforcing and handling preparations for the second and third dates, for these and other exams, such as class-to-class transition exams or classification exams for students into levels and groups.

In addition, the chairman of the teachers' union ruled that preparation days should not be held before the start of the school year - because it is not mandatory, and moreover if we do not open this school year, their existence will be a blessing to cancel it. Principals shall not participate in any monitoring committee, of any kind, with the Ministry of Education or employers, as well as board members.
Erez even went back to his previous decision, which caused a storm, that trips to Poland should not be held. He declared to the principals and teachers: "Do not contract with companies that provide and organize services for school trips because they will not take place, and anyone who calls puts his money on the 'deer fund.'"
