Sources in the coalition strongly criticized Galant and the defense establishment's intention to impose administrative detention orders against settlers after the serious attack in Ali, as reported in recent days. "Taking the draconian step of administrative detention orders against settlers who only a few days ago lost their comrades in a murderous attack is a moral crime of the first order, which is only intensified by the lenient attitude of the security establishment towards Arab rioters on the other side. Such a step, if it happens, will be a bright mark of shame on the name of the right-wing government that was elected to promote the settlements and not to act against it."

According to them, "such a step will not only not contribute to calming the area, but will also inflame the situation and create unrest among many civilians in Judea and Samaria who have been experiencing security incompetence in the face of Arab terrorism for a long time."
The sources also mentioned that in the past, 50 ministers and Knesset members from the coalition came out against the administrative detention orders imposed by Galant, and called on him to refrain from imposing additional orders. "Already several months ago, most members of the coalition expressed their opinion clearly, strongly criticizing the use of administrative detention orders against settlers and calling on Galant to order the cancellation of the orders he issued. Even now, certainly when it comes to bloody days for settlements, Galant is expected to implement the right-wing policy for which he was elected and not to act against the opinion of the coalition," the sources added.
