Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened the ministers for a cabinet meeting on Sunday, against the background of the return of the legal reform and the start of discussions on the clause relating to reasonableness.
Prime Minister Netanyahu said at the start of the meeting: "In Operation Guardian of the Walls, we changed the equation vis-à-vis Hamas, we turned it back, and since then it has not fired a single rocket at Israel. With Operation Shield and Arrow, we changed the equation vis-à-vis Islamic Jihad. Last week we changed the equation again when the IDF eliminated terrorists with a drone. We are pursuing a firm policy to defend Israeli citizens. I give my full backing to our soldiers. The appropriate response to terrorism is to fight terrorists and deepen its grip on our country. We build according to approved building plans. Emirates to seize territory illegally and such actions are unacceptable to me and must stop immediately. Not only will we not back such actions, but we will act against them vigorously."
Transportation Minister Miri Regev commented on the recent reports regarding Netanyahu's trial: "I brought you a tissue to share in the studios, because I saw how sad they were when they talked about the Netanyahu trial. I said that in the end those who would be put on trial would be the Saladin gang. I'm sure the sentence will dissolve. I call on the attorney general to prosecute Ehud Barak, who calls for civil disobedience. This is a coup and a reality that we must not accept."
Minister Nir Barkat addressed the violence in Binyamin: "I strongly condemn the violence. I trust the IDF to do its job in the best possible way. They spoil the good name of the vast majority of the settlers and damage Israel's image in the world."
Minister Arbel added: "We will do everything to maintain the safety of residents throughout Israel. I'm sure we'll know better days."
