The story of Guilherme, the 8-year-old boy who moves millions.

The case of Guilherme Gandra Moura for days has excited a good part of Brazil. The eight-year-old woke up after 16 days in a coma and the video of the reunion with his mother went viral on networks, reaching an unusual number of reproductions.

The footage, recorded by the boy's father, Estevão Moura, shows Tayane Granda Orrinco, the mother, running to see her son safe and sound. The first thing the boy had done when he woke up had been to ask about her.

Upon seeing her, Guilherme begins to shout excitedly "Mama!" and, finally, both end up giving each other a touching hug.

Guilherme was visited by Gabriel Pec, footballer from Vasco da Gama.

"An impossible God healed him"

Doctors at the hospital in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, where Moura is still hospitalized, consider it a miracle that Guilherme woke up.

The boy suffers from epidermolysis bullosa since birth, a genetic and hereditary disease that causes collagen deficiency and, consequently, multiple wounds and blisters on the skin.

However, the complication of his condition was emphasized in recent days by severe pneumonia. That's why he was hospitalized, intubated and had a tracheotomy.

"I wanted to teleport here to the hospital. I came running. I tried my best to get there as quickly as possible and then when I arrived at the hospital reception, Estevão called me to ask where I was. When I entered the room, that was it," Tayane told TV Globo.

Guilherme's mother is a nutritionist and at the time the boy woke up he was not in her area.

"Thank God he woke up from this nightmare and all the doctors celebrated, because no one understood how his trachea was intact, with the disease he has. This is a God of the impossible who healed my son," Tayane said.

Ready to go home

Guilherme came out of the coma on Wednesday 21 and today, Sunday, he woke up early and in a good mood. He will be discharged on Tuesday, when sedatives will no longer have to be given.

To return to his home in Itaguaí he will have an escort of honor offered by the Federal Highway Police.

The case became so well known that Gabriel Pec, a footballer from the team of his loves, Vasco da Gama, visited him in the hospital. Obviously, he received it with a lot of emotion.
