Eight days ago, the singer received a surprising phone call from a fan in Dimona • "A couple of my friends had a male son, and their dream is that you will sit on the godfather's chair and they ask if you will agree to come to Brit in a week here in Dimona?"

Last weekend, singer Kobi Peretz shared with his 109,<> Instagram followers a great and moving privilege that fell to him, when he became the godfather of a newborn who he did not know and his parents, but whose dream was that he would be the one to come to the covenant and become the godfather of the child.

"Eight days ago I received a call from an old fan in the form of an angel from Dimona named Moriah," Peretz began the moving post, accompanied by photos and a video of him from the covenant holding his newborn knee in awe as he sits on the Godfather's throne dressed all in white.

"Kobi, a couple of my friends had a baby here, a male son, and their dream is that you will sit on the godfather's chair and they ask if you will agree to come to the Brit in a week here in Dimona?" he went on to elaborate on the circumstances that led to the great mitzvah.

"I was shocked," Perez admitted. "A couple I don't know and want to honor me with such an important mitzvah and such great honor. "Where is the grandfather, uncles? Why are they asking for me, a stranger to them,' I asked!?', Peretz said of the sense of surprise and puzzlement he felt following the request.

"She gave an answer that stunned me: 'The godfather has an important role over the child. The child grows in his image and the parents ask that he have a degree of parental respect as you do with your mother. This is their youngest son (like you) and they want you to stick to him as much as you set an example for all of us,'" replied the fan who approached him.

The exciting answer was enough for Peretz and he excitedly agreed to make his parents' dream come true. "I answered straight away, tell them it's a great honor for me and a privilege I never imagined, and of course I come with joy and love," he wrote.

"This morning, Covenant Day, I immersed myself in a mikveh, renewed myself in a new suit and went to the hall in Dimona," Peretz shared with his hundreds of thousands of followers, "where apart from that angel-like fan, Moriah, I didn't know anyone. As soon as I entered the hall, father Yaniv came up to me, introduced himself and started sweating. Along with him, I also started sweating from excitement and shock," he added, adding: "I make a living from my voice, I couldn't get a word out," he admitted.

Suddenly, my late father appeared in front of me

"I sat on the sandakah chair with the tallit, they put the sweet baby on me, the rabbi starts reading the blessings and my head is only in thoughts," he shared about his experience and how moved he was. "In front of my eyes suddenly appeared the image of my father, Patty z"l, who left me immediately after the investigation against me was opened from sorrow, and the image of Sarita's mother, who suffered from it and almost went crazy when she realized that I was entering a prison house, and even the small cell there in the damn place, when I looked through the bars and believed that I was already assigned and what was waiting for me outside and what a future was waiting for me," Peretz recalls of the difficult days he went through.

"In the meantime, the ceremony is over, the newborn is given the name "Nehorai David" who will merit a long and good life, mitzvot and good deeds, Amen, and the father, mother and family come up with a blessing from me. I got up, put the tallit on them, started issuing the first blessing and couldn't. Suddenly I burst into such long tears, when they were under the shawl all this time, and I bless and cry, cry and bless and the whole hall sees, moves and cries together with us.

"Today I have gained a great privilege from strangers, but those whose souls have been attached to the world. I thank the Ben David family for the great honor and wish Father Yaniv and Mother Dana, who knew only the pleasure of David and all those who came from their loins, and that he will indeed be for them and for them also a symbol of filial piety and that they will always know health and joy in their home," Peretz wished at the end of the exposed and moving post, while also wishing to convey a message at the end: "To everyone who reads these words, always remember: Even behind the difficult things that stand on you, I stand."
