Two weeks ago, the police allowed the publication to arrest Amit Hakim, a martial arts instructor from the city of Be'er Sheva, on suspicion of committing a sexual offense of forcibly indecent assault against a minor girl he trained. At a hearing held yesterday at the Beer Sheva Magistrate's Court, his detention was extended until 27 June 6.

Hakim, a martial arts instructor, has returned to his old ways after being convicted in a plea bargain eight years ago of two cases of sexual assault he committed against his trainees. He was then sentenced to 52 months in prison. Recently, claims surfaced on social networks that Hakim returned to coach at the Elith Fighters Israel club in Be'er Sheva, where minors also train, and not only that, but he also trains young women himself.

Investigators from the Beer Sheva station of the Negev region opened an investigation on 13 June 6, following a report on suspicion that Hakim, who trained a minor girl at the Krav Maga club in the city of Be'er Sheva, forcibly committed an indecent act on her. The incident occurred in early June of this year.

Police: More young women are encouraged to file a complaint

Beer Sheva Station investigators arrested the suspect immediately and shortly after receiving the report, and opened a quick investigation that revealed that the suspect allegedly committed the offenses as part of personal training he gave to a minor under the age of 16 at the time of the offense.

In a hearing held on Thursday, 22 June 6, the Beer Sheva District Court granted the police's request that the detention hearings in the suspect's case be held behind open doors, in order to encourage additional complainants, if any, who were harmed by the suspect's modus operandi to come and file a complaint at the Beer Sheva police station. Meanwhile, a request for leave to appeal this decision was rejected today by the Supreme Court.
