A delegation of rabbis and many from the Rabbinical Voice for Human Rights and Torat Zedek organization paid a solidarity visit to the village of Turmus Aya on Tuesday after the settlers' riots, in which dozens of homes, vehicles and extensive property damage were caused.

The delegation came to comfort mourners at the family home of 25-year-old Omar Qatan, who was killed by police gunfire during the riots, and also met representatives of the region's farmers' association, representatives of the village council and other figures.

Rabbi Ruti Bidetz, Chairperson of the Rabbinical Voice for Human Rights, said: "We are full of shame in the acts that were done here, acts of hatred, and we have come to say that it was not done in our name. We believe in the right of Palestinians to live freely on their land, and we feel your pain today."

Rabbi Arik Asherman, CEO of Torat Tzedek, said: "It was important for us to come today to stand with the villagers and say that we did not do enough, and to commit to continue working in the future."
