Environmental Protection Minister Idit Silman sent Police Commissioner Rabbi Yaakov Shabtai a letter demanding enforcement of noise regulations following noise measurements conducted by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, at the request of the police during the previous government.
The letter was sent in light of noise complaints received from major demonstration sites, in which it became clear that the use of noisy means, such as amplification devices, zambras and others near homes and educational institutions, causes unreasonable noise during the day, and even more severe noise hazards at night. According to them, this causes severe harm to all those around and suffering to tens of thousands of civilians.

Accordingly, the minister calls for enforcement of regulations aimed at protecting the health and quality of life of Israeli citizens. Along with guaranteeing the democratic right to demonstrate, it is unlikely that citizens will suffer from an unreasonable and serious noise hazard in their private homes.
