The Knesset member took her baby to the plenary podium to present a bill she had initiated, but the Knesset's legal counsel asked her not to do so. MK Sharan Haskel from the State Camp took to the podium in the Knesset plenum with her baby on Tuesday to present a bill she initiated ahead of its first reading. In response, the Knesset's legal counsel asked her to come down and refrain from doing so.

In July last year, MK Haskel gave birth to twins and thus became the mother of three daughters. Since then, she has been trying to juggle her parliamentary work with raising her daughters, and this is not the first time she has come to work with her daughters.

Even on the day of the swearing-in of the 25th Knesset, Haskel came with the twins to the plenum and was assisted by the Knesset members sitting next to her to hold one of them. When she was asked to swear allegiance, she stood up with her daughter and said, "I pledge."

Knesset regulations prohibit others who are not Knesset members or former Knesset members from staying in the plenum area, but the Knesset turned a blind eye to the fact that the intellect had come several times in the past with her daughters. However, when she took the stand, she was asked not to do so. Some of the attendants offered her their help, but she refused. Beyond the law, the chairman who presided over the meeting, MK Uriel Bosso of Shas, suggested that the bill be presented when it returns to the plenum, even if the agenda continues.

MK Haskel said in response: "It is sad that the Speaker of the Knesset, who has twins at home, chooses to prevent a woman with children from going up to the plenary podium and presenting the bill like any other Knesset member. I bring my daughter to work not for provocations or likes, but because I'm a mother and I want to combine my motherhood and career, like every mother in the State of Israel."

"From day one, I pledged to go with my mothers proudly and without shame, not to hide or be ashamed, but to prove to women everywhere that it is possible and necessary to normalize motherhood everywhere, including in the Israeli Knesset. Children are not an accessory, and not anything that should not be displayed on the stand, it is part of us and me personally. The Speaker of the Knesset has discretion and he made a sad decision today, and the truth is humiliating and terrible towards me and other mothers," she added.
