A 13-year-old boy from the community of Michmanim in the Lower Galilee drowned to death Wednesday evening near Haifa's student beach. The incident took place at around 19:20 P.M., when the MDA hotline received a report of a child who had been pulled from the sea after drowning. MDA teams called to the beach gave him medical treatment and evacuated him to Rambam Hospital in critical condition, while performing CPR. Later, medical teams at the hospital were forced to pronounce him dead.
MDA paramedic Shaked Meir and MDA emergency medic Baruch Linsha said: "When we reached the beach, we saw a woman leading us towards a number of family members who had been rescued from the water and told us that their brother was missing in the water. After marine police searched, a 12-year-old boy was found unconscious in the water, without a pulse or breathing. We gave him medical treatment and performed advanced and prolonged resuscitation until we arrived at the hospital."
A spokesperson for Rambam Hospital said: "Unfortunately, a 13-year-old boy from the north who drowned on one of Haifa's beaches was pronounced dead and evacuated by MDA while resuscitating him to the emergency room at Ruth Children's Hospital in Rambam."

Last Friday, a 63-year-old Acre resident drowned to death on Argaman Beach in the city. In the afternoon, he was brought to the Galilee Medical Center in critical condition, while resuscitation was performed. He was later transferred to the intensive care unit, where medical teams were forced to pronounce him dead.
