The annual mass of TF1 was held this Wednesday. On the fiction side, there is an ever stronger trend towards detective comedy.

With its new slogan, "The French, together", and galvanized by the success of the HPI series, in particular, TF1 puts the package on the police comedy and closes for the 2023-2024 season a slew of police or parapolice series. Called "feel good", these programs are aimed at all generations, from 4 years and over to the oldest viewers, and all social classes. "French fiction is a major genre that every year is renewed, enriched and upmarketed. This year again, the group, particularly TF1, offers a 'line up' built on the diversity of formats and genres," say Anne Viaut and Fabrice Bailly, respectively director of French fiction and director of programs and acquisitions of the group. Diversified programs, certainly, the announcements made today show that most of them are thrillers, better still, detective comedies. Investigations and humor now make up the ideal combo. Investigations conducted moreover not totally atypical cops or "paracops". After HPIand its cleaning lady with high intellectual potential, whose season 4 goes to shoot in a few days, Master Crimes, Miss Holmes, The Daron, The Negotiator, The Breadcrumb Trail, Mercato and Panda will soon see the light of day. Le fil d'Ariane (pilot of 2 x 45), with Chantal Ladesou and Florent Peyre. Ariane Legrand (Chantal Ladesou), a legendary court columnist, has covered every major criminal case of the past 50 years. Barbara Cabrita. Former negotiator at the BIS on the sidelines, Antoine Clerc (François-Xavier Demaison) returns to service when he finds himself taken hostage with his daughter in a bank. For having masterfully managed the situation, he is offered to join the RAID, led by Hélène Banier (Jeanne Bournaud). First problem: he is open and over-empathetic - she is locked and psychorigid. Second problem: his life is a mess when that of Helen is on the contrary timed. Can this unlikely duo hold?

Mademoiselle Holmes (6 x 52), with Lola Dewaere, Tom Villa, Daniel Prevost, Thomas Jouannet and Alika Del Sol. Who would have thought that Charlie (Lola Dewaere), 36 years old, discreet cop, shy and still living with his grandfather (Daniel Prévost), was the descendant of the famous Sherlock Holmes...?!

Master Crimes (6 x 52), with Muriel Robin and Anne Le Nenn, among others. A series created, written and dialogued by Elsa Marpeau (Captain Marleau, Alexandra Ehle). Louise Arbus (Muriel Robin) is a professor of psycho-criminology at the University, a brilliant and insightful but infuriating woman, whose talent is recognized throughout the France. While he is by chance at the airport at the time of the arrival with fanfare of the new star recruit of OM, Thomas Chevalier (Arnaud Ducret), office cop with a career so far exemplary, neutralizes a madman who was preparing to attack the footballer and injures the latter unintentionally. The sanction is immediate: he is transferred from Paris to Marseille...

Panda (6 x 52), with Julien Doré, Ophélia Kolb, Gustave Kervern and Hélène Vincent. A relaxed pacifist and a fan of cool, Panda (Julien Doré) runs a small hut in a remote corner of the Camargue. No cell phone, no computer, no car, he lives with his 16-year-old teenager in his cocoon and avoids anything that looks like a conflict. How can we imagine that this great sage in flip-flops and faded T-shirt was ever a cop and even one of the best?
