The story could have ended badly. On Monday, a four-year-old child escaped from his primary school in Saint-Morillon (Gironde), "following a punishment". According to his parents, little Louis was left alone in the classroom unattended during recess and therefore took the opportunity to leave the school. "Fortunately my husband was teleworking and found Louis around the corner," says his mother, Camille, who considers the situation "unacceptable".
Neither the police nor the parents had been informed of the child's disappearance. Shortly after finding Louis by chance, his father took him back to school, but "no apology" would then have been made from the establishment, castigates Louis' mother, who says that "remonstrances were made to (their) child". The family filed a complaint through her lawyer and Camille says that this event reinforces their choice to change their children from school.

I am not safe to leave my children in a school where, in five years, a child has escaped twice due to teacher negligence." A similar situation had, in its view, already occurred. If she specifies that her son Louis "is well physically", he was however "shocked" and "cried at bedtime" Monday night.
Contacted, the town hall of Saint-Morillon and the rectorate have not yet responded to our requests.
